Description: During the last 15 years, the interest for the Hungarian language and culture has grown constantly. One of the main reasons for this growth was fall of the Iron Curtain and the enlargement of the European Union. Hungary has become an important tourist destination; many citizens of the "old" EU have their (secondary) residence there. Moreover, economic cooperation has developed considerably, so that many citizens from other EU countries work today in Hungary.

It comes therefore as no surprise that Hungarian courses are often fully booked; new courses - including some with special themes - are being offered constantly.

We have been teaching Hungarian Courses at the Popular University (VHS) Aachen for more than 10 years; in this time we have been responsible for courses on all levels. The courses used mostly general terminology; in some cases, though, special or business language was required.

The courses at the Popular University are structured in semesters; the classes are held usually once a week and comprise two course units (CU). Intensive courses run 4-5 days a week and comprise 4 CU each.

Reference: "My instructor, Ms. Botorog, has helped me to cope even with the most difficult lessons from the manual. Thereby, she has offered me from the beginning a well-balanced mix of theory and practice in a very pleasant manner. [...]
In addition, she has spent a considerable amount of time to introduce me not only to the Hungarian language, but also to the Hungarian culture. [...]
Ms. Botorog is not only a good language teacher, but also an amiable, experienced, tolerant, and generous person, with an in-depth knowledge of various cultures, and an impressive capacity of adaptation when dealing with other people."
