zeb/data.warehouse 2.0 – Enhancement of the zeb/data.warehouse with transactions, results, and foreign currencies

Description: zeb/data.warehouse is the basis for the product family zeb/control, which is used in the banking sector. This project comprised the enhancement of the data warehouse with transactions, results (provisions, costs etc.), and foreign currencies.

Apart from the efficient processing of large data volumes, ETL and aggregation layers were created for the new entities. Moreover, drill-downs were enabled down to the finest granularity.

The enhanced data warehouse was rolled out as the new release 2.0; the new functionality is used in several customer projects.

Own tasks:
  • Responsible for the “Results” entities on account and transaction levels
  • Writing and reviewing implementation and test concept papers
  • Enhancement of the target data model of the zeb/data.warehouse
  • Enhancement/creation of configuration tables and generator procedures (dynamic SQL) for all new entities, including all layers for the ETL process and all aggregations for reporting and drill-down functionality
  • Creation of all objects for the new entities, including constraints, etc.
  • Development of data loading routines
  • Integration and performance tests for the ETL process, including tuning SQL statements on large data sets (107 – 108 records) – bulk inserts, optimizer hints, indexes, execution plans, tkprof
  • Support of the client development with respect to the enhancements
  • Configuration of the MS-Access control program for data import into the data warehouse
