Description: |
The Travel Management Information System TMIS is a data warehouse, which
enables a consolidated view on the Business Travel Area of a large company.
TMIS loads data from several sources (SAP-TM, Amadeus, AirPlus, etc.),
consolidates them, and presents them to the user for evaluation.
Version 1.0 of the system was rolled out for an important customer. In
Version 2.0, the application was enhanced with multi-client capability,
thus enabling it to accommodate further customers.

Responsibility for the ETL process from the source system SAP (travel
planning and travel cost billing areas, as well as master data)

Writing loader scripts, transformation, and matching procedures

Design of the data requirement for the Business Objects application,
analysis and consolidation together with the customer

Contribution to the implementation of the BO universes and BO objects;
design of the interface to the database

Optimization of the data model in the base data area and in the data
presentation layer

Installation and configuration of the software configuration management
system

Performance tuning of the ETL process and of the data presentation layer

Consolidating and structuring the data warehouse

Enhancement of TMIS with features supporting multi-client capability,
comprising enhancement of tables, re-definition of constraints and indexes,
adaptation of the stored procedures and external scripts, etc.

Specification and implementation of the interface to Business Objects

Optimizations on the data presentation layer, mainly through materialization

Enhancement of the import concept, to enable loading, processing, and
presentation of data on holding and on company level
