Description: The RiWa Project comprises the design and the development of a data warehouse that implements the regulations of the Basel II Accord on own capital requirements for credit risks. On assignment from two Austrian bank groups and in cooperation with a computing center, an IT environment was developed, that enables the banks to fulfill the capital requirements of the Basel II Accord.

Own tasks:
  • Technical architect data warehouse: designing a technical architecture for the large-scale Basel-II project
  • Configuration management in RiWa
  • Implementation of a test-input database in MS Access
  • Implementation of an interim reporting solution in MS-Access
  • Feasibility study regarding a Basel-II solution for a bank
  • Analysis of the operational source systems, data mapping
  • Review and optimization of the data models
  • DWH configuration, release tests, reporting
  • Writing and consolidating concept papers
  • Time and budget estimations, customer acquisition, workshops
